SPRAY FOAM INSULATION FOR RENOVATION PROJECTS

WALLTITE® from BASF Polyurethanes is a fast applied spray foam insulation system for internal walls and roofs. Ideal for domestic refurbishment and hard to treat homes its U-value to thickness ratio is considerably lower than that of conventional insulation materials, which is a real benefit when room space is at a premium.

The continuous spray foam leaves a minimal amount of surface area without insulation resulting in as much as a 30% decrease in heat loss and thermal transmission values as low as 0.13W/m²K. WALLTITE not only meets, but exceeds current and  new Part L regulation and provides an energy efficient dwelling which will enjoy significant savings on fuel bills..  The resultant seamless, airtight structure will also help homeowners achieve SAP emission rates.

WALLTITE is made thermally efficient courtesy of its closed cell structure which also helps control the movement of vapour and moisture throughout the building thus reducing the risk of condensation and mould. It is extremely durable, does not deteriorate with age and wil therefore perform at the same high level over the life of the structure.

Application: WALLTITE® can be applied to almost any substrate with little preparation required and no primer. Labour costs are reduced because there is no need to finish with a membrane – contractors can go straight to plasterboard application.

Unlike conventional insulation materials, there is no waste to remove after installation and no requirement for storage on site. PU spray foams arrive in liquid form, unlike fibre insulation, which is bulky and needs a clean, dry area for storage. This make scheduling of work much easier and there are no concerns about multiple or redeliveries

Coverage with WALLTITE is achieved quickly with one man typically applying up to 200m² in an eight hour day.  Time and coverage will clearly depend on the thickness required.

WALLTITE is applied by BASF trained and approved contractors and  has been successfully installed in many UK  properties. Visitors to the show will have an opportunity to meet one of the contractors from the area to discuss their insulation requirements. Our technical staff will also be on hand to give you guidance on your particular project.

Building Research Establishment (BRE) WALLTITE has been specified by the BRE as one of the insulants for the refurbishment of a victorian terraced house on their site in Watford. The Rethinking Housing Refurbishment initiative highlights the vital role that refurbishment has to play in reducing carbon emissions.

Similarly WALLTITE is being used by Huntingdonshire District Council in the renovation of  two 1960’s houses. The scheme will demonstrate to residents how to reduce CO2 emissions and make cost effective improvements to the insulation and improve fuel efficiency.
