The first task was rescue: stripping back damaged layers, repairing original stone and timber, reinstating lime plaster and mortar, and unifying the two cottages into one coherent home. Once stabilised, the focus shifted to creating the space the family needed. A contemporary extension was designed as a modern counterpart to the historic farmstead, stepping down with the hillside and opening into a vaulted, light‑filled living space with views to the Peak District.
Greenfold Farm now blends heritage and modern living, a clear example of what’s possible on challenging countryside or listed plots.
