Thread Architects
Thoughtful, design-led architects helping homeowners create sustainable, beautifully crafted homes.
With studios in Sheffield and Solihull, we work across the UK supporting self-builders and renovators to realise high-quality, low-energy homes, from Passivhaus and EnerPHit upgrades to contemporary extensions and newbuilds.
We specialise in navigating complex planning challenges, particularly on countryside and heritage sites. Whether you’re building on a new plot, unlocking an infill site or adapting an existing building, our team brings deep experience in securing approvals and shaping projects that respond sensitively to place.
We guide clients through every stage of the journey, from first ideas to completion. Our approach is collaborative, clear and design-driven, combining technical expertise with creativity to deliver homes that feel personal, practical and truly exceptional.
