Jim Duffy
Jim Duffy is a Director of RIBA Chartered Architects Add Architects, based in Farnham and Brighton.
Jim has an extensive background in relatively large-scale urban regeneration projects in the UK, Europe and beyond. However, following the recession, Jim set up practice with a close friend, Hugh Dennis, in 2013 with a focus on a wide range of residential projects. These include a fascinating mix of elegant contemporary house extensions; one-off houses; conservation projects; small groups of houses on tight urban sites; urban apartment blocks; right up to a 100-unit scheme around an old Mill which has just received planning consent.
Of particular note is his own new-build house on a hillside overlooking the Surrey Hills which was the subject of a full feature in Grand Designs Magazine and also won:
Build-It Magazine Award 2016 : Best Oak-Framed Home
Waverley Design Awards 2019 : Best New Residential Building.
This range of experience enables every new project to be approached from first principles, using the best of contemporary construction techniques and sustainable design.
